The 7400 goal mask is designed and engineered to create optimal visibility. The recessed cage area moves the cage closer to the eyes, improving visibility and sight lines.
The vinyl nitrile (VN) padding is anatomically designed for optimal fit and performance with raised mold lines that reduce flat spots for superior puck deflection to lessen impacts.
The shell is engineered with high impact Lexan material and precisely located ridge lines that add strength and reduce shell flex under high impacts. The jaw area is profiled with a flared lower short chin to give superior downward visibility and allows the mask to be fitted closer to the face for improved visibility. Large air vent holes and face opening are designed to provide maximum ventilation and reduce heat buildup during long ice sessions.
Compared to the Vaughn 7500 goal mask, the 7400 mask will be a more budget friendly option. The two masks share the same shell with the 7400 featuring EVA foam compared to the 7500's VN. Additionally, the 7400 utilizes a carbon steel cage where the 7500 features stainless.

I like it. It is a little heavy but who cares. Good sweatband and good with a dangler. Nice cage too. I like it better than Bauer masks.Review by CBo39 (Posted on 9/6/2013)
I play competitive junior hockey and I had this helmet for about half a season. I loved to visibility in the helmet but hated how heavy it was and i absolutely hated how it looked on the ice. It looks more like a street hockey helmet. I now have a Bauer NME 9 and I like it a lot more. Definitely worth the extra moneyReview by GoalieGuy16 (Posted on 7/31/2013)
