    No more giant purple welts

I've been rolling with the pad-attached type of thigh guards for some time, and they just weren't cutting it anymore. I was reluctant to try this style of pad because of the relative bulk and because I was concerned about slipping. I watched a video posted online about the best way for using these (under mesh socks with tape over both, socks held up with garter), so I tried that.

It's taken some getting used to, but in the last game I was really channeling my inner flying squirrel, and after the game, I noticed a puck mark on my sock. I realized that the puck mark meant the thigh pad had taken the punishment instead of my leg. I think I'll call these a keeper.

    almost right

The pads fit my legs but the straps were not long enough to be comfortable. I bought 2 pairs of velcro strap extensions online. Now I can leave the knee pads a little looser and I can put the straps at the perfect angles.
