not that great of a product

This product is good enough for not putting pressure on your foot or ankle. The product itself was good until it couldn't connect anymore it would also unconnect during practice or games. When the product was not disconnecting it was good enough that you could play to your best that you could play.

I have two goalies and we always use these

We’ve been using these for 7 years now. They work great.. always keep a spare on hand in case of a break, but they usually last at least 1 1/2 seasons for my two goalies.

Great product - your hips will thank you!

Been using these for 3 years and have learned a little trick... if you place the black sleeve on both sides (it takes an extra set to do this), they last for months and months. The rubbing on the gray cord is the weak point, so if protected, they never wear out. Not sure why they didn't just design them this way, but give it a try and you'll be amazed how long they last.

    Didn't last

I thought these would be more durable and be easier to put on than traditional toe ties but they broke sooner than expected and were not as easy to hook into my laces. One end broke off when trying to hook to my lace, the other broke off in the middle of a game after a pad stack. I'm going to be going back to traditional laces after this experience or checking out a different smart strap brand.

Been using these for 3+ years - no problems

My Son has been using these since he was a 1st year quart. He is now a 2nd year Pee Wee and still loves them. He has been getting himself dressed ever since I put them on. We have had a cord break and a clip come undone. That is why I always keep an extra set in his bag just in case.

    not durable

13 year old daughter plays in a youth league and we purchased these for her less than three months ago. She has already gone through the first set of replacement hooks. We were happy with the product initially but even the black cover on the stretchy part won't stop bunching up and we know from the first set that the second set of hooks is right behind it in breaking. Will not purchase again, don't feel it is a reliable product.

    Tried and True

I have been using FlexToe for as long as they've been on the market. I play an average of three times a week at pretty high level adult and D2 ACHA caliber. The first two go-arounds were kinda rough, I had two clips detach and the hooks came undone once in the middle of a game, but as soon as I figured out that you need to push the bungee all the way to the head of the clip before anchoring, and to hook them to the laces open side up, they have worked perfectly. I have been through three set of pads (on my fourth now), and as long as I remember to inspect them regularly, they never fail. The difference FlexToe and laces in my knees and especially in my ankles is striking. This is a fantastic product, I am a customer for life!

    Game Changer

Best thing we've bought our 11 year old goalie. Gets dressed and undressed in half the time now. Highly recommend.

Outstanding for young Goalies and some old.

My son and I both have/had these on our pads. I went through 3 pairs in 2 years, he's still on the first pair over 2 years, which were taken off and put onto his brand new pads. I personally switched to Toe Hook, it is just more durable for direct impact and abrasion at my level (collegiate). The cord's outer layer broke down over time as it rubbed occasionally during a slide where my toe was angled down further than normal. This eventually caused the elastic bands in side to be exposed and soon after, snap. The clips I never had one break, a few times they came undone, usually because I didn't hook them under a high enough lace, which was resolved with just putting a 1" piece of tape over the hook opening after securing. Even with the tape step, it was still faster and superior IMO to laces. The cord pulls the pad back to center, especially if your skate blades aren't parallel to the ice, and give when you need slack. Personally I'd recommend them to anyone over laces, they work with any toe bridge, including sliding, and if put on correctly and on a high enough lace, they're not coming off and if they do slip somehow, a 1" piece of tape over each hook is an easy fix. Biggest con, when taking them off one out of two clips will likely break at the snap ring. It's plastic and a lot of pressure trying to get it unhooked, you're highly likely to break one. These also don't require any possible modification to your pads as a set of toe hooks may, and give more than toe hooks for young/old Goalies with less flexibility.
I'll probably have to replace my son's at some point this season as the fraying is starting, but getting 2.5 years and superior performance, and ease of dress out of them was well worth it.

    Cheap and over priced

for what they are worth I would just stick with regular laces. Laces might take a little longer but they get the job done. This product tends to be faulty. This is just my opinion but all of my friends have said the same thing. So i decided to take the time to make a comment about it.
