Details

New for 2016, the Legendary Leferve design team brings you the reengineered CCM Premier Pro Line. The Premier Pro Leg Pad features the lightest injection molded foam core since the inception of the line.

The new Premier Sr. Pro goal pads are engineered to give the goaltender optimal weight balance when in the butterfly, reverse VH and recovery movements. With the new thinner profile on the outside edge, the goaltender will have less interference during pad rotation while going down to the ice. In combination of this thinner outside profile, CCM has incorporated a deeper knee stance by removing the air pillow between the knee and back of the pad. This allows the pad to sit closer to the knee and thigh, further allowing the goaltender to better seal their five hole aiding in more coverage.

The Premier Sr. Pro goal pad reduces weight throughout the back of the leg channel with a new Pro strapping system. With a single leather strap at the knee, and a single leather strap at the top of the calf channel, the pad is held to your leg in key spots and giving the pad an extremely close feel. CCM has incorporated a 4” wide Velcro calf lock keeping the leg snug into the pad, but allowing fast rotation. Since the growing popularity of the CCM line, the knee lock strap is now angled down into the calf providing a wide open feeling at the knee to accommodate larger knee pads and further promote fast pad rotation down into the butterfly and reverse VH. Featuring a redesigned boot angle, this pad will help promote pucks to rocket into the corners and reduce the risk of negative rebounds back towards the front of the net.

Lastly, the CCM Sr. Pro goal pad comes with a brand new redesigned knee pad meant to sit tight to the knee and tuck under the pants. The new knee pad features a comfy landing side with added knee and thigh protection to not only keep knees safe but to add comfort in the butterfly.

Compared to the Premier R1.9 pads, the Premier Sr. Pro pads will feature the highest quality construction and higher grade materials on the outside skin of the pad along with better foams in the core of the pad. Utilizing maximum coverage and the fastest pad rotation the Leferve design team has created the Premier Sr. Pro goal pad is built for the elite level goalie wanting the best CCM has to offer.

Pretty damn good

I used these pads a lot last season I had about 4-5 practices a week from September to January and about 1-4 games a week at a competitive bantam and high school level and these held up great. They are stiff and boot out rebounds but as time goes on these pads get pretty soft in flex and the toe of the pad is showing some wear along with the tips of the thigh rise and the toe bridge has a nasty crack in it. The weight I don’t think is that bad honestly. Great pads. Also love the knee cradle

Good quality pad, have had no problems using it through an entire season so far.

Have used these pads for a year. These pads seem to hold up well and are light weight. I'm on the ice at lest 4-5 times a week and the pads seem like they are still new. I love how stiff the top of the pad is. I bought the 35 +2s after switching from bauer. With bauer i wore a 36 +2. Have yet to have any complaints so far.

Plays well, not built to last

Creators did not pay attention to the small details, pads are falling apart after one high school season. Buckles break easily, toe bridges rip and wear out easily, pads are worn out on the corners. Not stuff you want from a "pro level" pad.

Weight.....

These pads are very heavy. By the end of the second period I start to feel fatigued, to the point of my game being affected. The pads get a 1/5 for being so heavy. Rotation is not so good.
The glove is another story. This is probably the best glove I've owned. I can do everything with this glove. Has the proper weight. 5/5 for the glove. Blocker is good as well. Definitely better than my last 5/5 for the blocker.

The perfect butterfly pad

I've always used Reebok pads, ever since the original Premiers. I received my CCM Premiers, coming from the Reebok XLTs.
Whilst the Premiers are very similar in terms of the knee cradle, leg channel, etc, the subtle thinning out of the top half of the pad makes a world of difference in helping the pad snap down to the ice to seal the 5-hole.
Anyone coming from previous Reebok/CCM pads should note that the boot on the Premiers is at a slightly steaper angle, so the pad will naturally sit about an inch higher than previous generations.
All in all, I thought the XLTs were perfect, until I wore the Premiers. I don't think you can get any more perfect!
