Details

Brand new for 2018, Warrior Sports has unveiled their fourth iteration of the Ritual line dating all the way back to the Ritual G1 which debuted in 2012. Building off of the massive success of the G3, the G4 is built to bring ultimate performance, function and durability all while being the lightest gear on the market.

Starting with the inside edge, the Ritual G4 now features AIRslide technology which features two main channels across the knee wing and three channels across the inside sliding edge. AIRslide is designed to decrease friction by reducing surface area that contacts the ice. Not only will the AIRslide promote sliding on clean ice, but it will help drive the goalie for consistent slides even on rough and snowy ice that shows at their end of a session.

Next, there are micro adjustments on the strapping and leg channel of the pad, which features removed foam along the connection point on the back of the pad which will make the pad will sit a bit looser on the outside of the leg, without having to loosen up the straps. This will allow the pad to hang and drop faster to the inside edge, thus promoting faster closure of the five hole. The name of this new technology is their 360 degree Active Drop system. Lastly, the large outer calf strap is now adjustable which gives the goalie the opportunity to choose a tight connection to the back of the pad or a looser which, all depending on their preference.

On the outside of the calf, the G4 now features a newly redesigned outer Post Wedge which is thinner like the GT but features the same shape as the older G3. This design provides enough support and closure on the back of the leg and provides more comfort when in the butterfly or RVH.

The knee stack and neoprene sling wrap setup is now a stiffer setup to give the goalie a more stable butterfly and aid in the positive sliding qualities in the AIRSlide. The outer knee flap can be adjusted in a wider location, giving more adjustment options for goalies that wear larger knee pads but do not want to angle the knee strap down to the calf. G4 Intermediate pads will not come with a nylon knee strap or buckle through the knee section.

Throughout the toe section of the pad, the G4 pad will come stock with Active Response toe and boot straps which will give the goalie a tight connection with proper stretch to give the goalie crisp movements.

Finishing off the pad, there is a wider visual look which is due to the new graphic placement coupled with the thinner outer roll. This specific technology is named the RVH Optimized outer roll which features distinctive designs conducive to better RVH positioning/locking. The outer roll stays thin at the top of the pad and thin down by the shin and boot to give a good seal and overlap at the thigh and reducing the negative open space created by conventional outer rolls, when sealing the post in RVH.

If you are a goalie who is looking for the lightest pad on the market, coupled with leg channel and sliding improvements, the Warrior Ritual G4 Intermediate is the pad for you.

  • Ritual G4 Intermediate knee pads are included
  • Nylon carrying strap is included

    Good pads, but...

I bought these in the 32+1" size for my 12yo peewee over the summer. He'd outgrown his Brian’s Netzero 27+1" pads, and was ready for the next size up. After trying on all the different pads, he liked (and was best fitted fitted by) the Warrior R/G4's. They were good for him especially because he's skinny, and these seem to be slightly narrower than somer other pads. For a few summer clinics and this year's hockey season they've been great with one exception... over time, the straps that go behind the knees have deteriorated, especially on one side. It began a lot sooner than it should have, and at this point it's pretty bad. I'm in the middle of contacting Warrior to see what I can do. The straps are replaceable, so that's good, but I'm hoping it will be considered a warranty issue. The one strap will soon be unusable, and without the strap the pad is useless.

Lightest, quickest pad on the market (from a guy who has tried on a lot of pads)

If you are a smaller goalie 5'7" or under these are the pads for you. The butterfly is so much easier in these pads with an amazing seal along the ice and against the post. Superfast on butterfly pushes and there is nothing close as far as lightweight goes. If there is a con I would say durability. The stitching has broke in the knee cradle already so I have had to take the sewing needle out. There is quite a bit of wear on my pads after 80 games, just little things like paint wearing off and fraying. I would say these pads would be good for about 200 games tops. Great news if you only play 40 games or less a year.

    Durable, flexible, versatile

Had these pads for a little over a year, been playing in them 2-5 games per week with no issues. Once they dry out they are light as new.
Many strap combinations so no matter how you wear your pads you will be comfortable. they come with the knee guards which you WILL need. But are also comfortable and flexible

Great pads and a great value

I switched my son from Brians to Warriors after trying out several of the main options for his age group. He plays Peewee hockey and AAA hockey and went into this set in August 2018. After 60 plus games and just as many practices the pads look and function as they did when they were new. The glove has been awesome, since getting it broken in and the pucks fly off of his blocker. To sum up this set was 150 dollars less than the Bauer pads he wanted and they come with the best knee gaurds (in my opinion) on the market. He can put his pads on in a matter of a few minutes and he has never had any issues with the strapping system coming off during games like he did with his smart strap system on his toe ties. If you want a great set of pads that I light, comfortable, easy to put on and slide just as fast in the 3rd period as they do in the 1st then I would give these a try and you will not be disappointed. As someone who was not a fan of Warrior pads in the early stage I think they did an awesome job with this set at the intermediate level.

    Pretty good

I have had them for almost a month and they are good. I used to have the G3 so the switch was hard, but they ended up great. They slide very fast and can get up off the ice much faster than the G3. I would probably buy Warrior in the future when I am allowed to buy things without my parents. 10/10!
