Brand new for 2018, Bauer has continued their revolutionary line and brought out the new Bauer Supreme S27 Junior Goalie Skate. The S27 Junior skate will feature key upgrades to the outer quarter panels, heel shape and materials and steel runners making the Supreme line of equipment better than before.
Starting with the outer wrap of the skates, the S27 Junior will feature an asymmetrical fit with a higher inside heel edge to provide support a goalie needs yet give them comfort and freedom of movement through their usage. The quarter panels are made with a Texplate layering providing protection that goalies desire. The ankle has been redesigned with a new shape and padding so the heel of the skate sits more comfortably on the goalies ankle bone. Lining the skate will be Bauer’s grip liner which provides an ultimate grip on the goalies foot. On the front of the foot, the felt tongue has been designed with padding to help reduce lace bite.
Moving through to the outsole and runners, the S27 Junior will feature a lightweight TPR composite build designed to give support on the bottom of the foot. The holder on the skate will be the Vertexx Edge holder designed for the goaltender who wants completely uninhibited movement and an ultimate bite when moving around the crease. The runners will be the LS1G stainless steel blades which are similar to the S190 predecessor. Lastly, an upgraded heel loop will provide better durability and an easier connection for those who run the boot strap behind the heel of their foot.
If you are an entry-level goalie who is looking for upgraded boot comfort packaged in a cowlingless design, the Bauer Supreme S27 Junior Goalie Skate will be for you.
Ice skate sizing is not necessarily the same as if you were buying a dress shoe or a sneaker. A men's 9 skate does not equal a men's 9 shoe. All skates are sized in Canadian sizes; which are equal to 1 1/2 sizes larger in U.S. shoe size (i.e. a men's U.S. shoe size of 9 is equal to a Canadian size of 7.5). A lot of our customers a say "I could never fit into a 7.5 shoe!" This is true, however, a 7.5 skate is not a 7.5 shoe. Typically your skate size will be 1 to 1.5 skate sizes down from your shoe size. When you receive your skates, try them on and push your foot forward so that your toes (while flat) barely glance the toe cap. Bend your knee forward and look behind the heel of your foot down the skate. If you can fit a finger behind the heel easily the skates are too big. A finger should be wedged securely between the heel of your foot and the back side of the skate. Another way to find your skate size (not width), is to remove the footbed from the skates and stand on it with your knee slightly bent. NOTE: Make sure not to sharpen your skates until you are certain you have the correct size, sharpened skates cannot be returned.
