Continuing on one of the most anticipated new lines in goaltending in the recent years, Bauer has brought one of the most engineered and technologically advanced lines of gear to the goalie market. The Vapor X700 skate is packed with new features which strive to change the face of goaltending.

With the success of the “cowlingless” goalie skate, the Vapor X700 skate is designed to increase the attack angle of goalies moving while in the butterfly position as well as recoveries and movements around the crease. The outer cowling has been removed and a “traditional” looking player holder has been added to the boot. The boot and the toe cap have been stiffened and reinforced to protect against any shots on the toe.

Included in the new Vertexx Edge Holder is the 3mm LS1G steel specifically designed for the anatomical position the goalie will be in. This steel is removed via the Edge Trigger system found under the heel and gives goalie the opportunity to change their steel on the fly.

The Vapor X700 boot has more volume in the width and ankle, when compared to the Supreme counterpart. This means that the eyelets are moved forward so there can be more wrap and tightness in the ankle area. The boot has a fully symmetrical design where the inside and outside edge of the boot is the same height to give the goalie more support running up the inside and outside of the leg. The Tech Mesh boot construction and standard felt tongue add to the softness of the skate, while still maintaining protection.

If you are an average-level goalie who is looking for some of the best innovations on the market but who wants more support in their boot, the Bauer Vapor X700 Junior Goalie Skate will not disappoint you!

Ice skate sizing is not necessarily the same as if you were buying a dress shoe or a sneaker. A men's 9 skate does not equal a men's 9 shoe. All skates are sized in Canadian sizes; which are equal to 1 1/2 sizes larger in U.S. shoe size (i.e. a men's U.S. shoe size of 9 is equal to a Canadian size of 7.5). A lot of our customers a say "I could never fit into a 7.5 shoe!" This is true, however, a 7.5 skate is not a 7.5 shoe. Typically your skate size will be 1 to 1.5 skate sizes down from your shoe size. When you receive your skates, try them on and push your foot forward so that your toes (while flat) barely glance the toe cap. Bend your knee forward and look behind the heel of your foot down the skate. If you can fit a finger behind the heel easily the skates are too big. A finger should be wedged securely between the heel of your foot and the back side of the skate. Another way to find your skate size (not width), is to remove the footbed from the skates and stand on it with your knee slightly bent. NOTE: Make sure not to sharpen your skates until you are certain you have the correct size, sharpened skates cannot be returned.

Great skates for the price!

I got these skates for my son who is a Pee Wee. The skates took some getting used to, but after once they were broken in, he loved them. Only took about two practices to break them in. Highly recommended.

awesome beginner / intermediate skate

What a difference no cowling makes. My Daughter has found these lighter and easier to skate in than any previous goalie skate she’s had while still providing the protection that she wants. Also easier to lay foot over for a butterfly slide. They have help up great after a long season. At first she found that the toe strap on her pads didn’t lock in the way she liked so She moved to a toe hook, her teammate had the same skates and went to a Velcro type strap and those options suited each of them better with these particular skates.
Would definitely get another pair.

great goalie skate for atom/peewee moving to cowling less model

My son loves these skates. very lightweight and great ankle support. he wears Bauer x700 vapor pads with a clip system. The clips tend to mark up the skate but they are holding true other than a scuffed up look. He thinks its cools to look worn in any way. Good value for this skate and good transition skate to no cowling model. lower profile means he can get his skate and pad lower on slides.

Great skate for a beginer goalie

I purchased these for my 10 year old as he began his goalie carrier. They have proven to be a good skate at a great price. They obviously aren't as light or durable as a more expensive skate, however, for a kid that is just starting or will grow out of them in 6 months this is a great place to start.

Great Entry Level Skate for a Great Price

I picked these up for my 9 year old when they were a daily deal. They're obviously entry level and not nearly as stiff as a high-end skate, but for the money and as an upgrade from a pair of old school used Rebooks, they were a home run. Vapors are narrower so I got the in EE and they fit great.
