Details

New for 2016, CCM brings back the Most Efficient Pump fit system and loaded it into the CCM RibCor 50K skates.

The 50K skate is centered around a medium fit boot and toe box, with a slightly wider heel to fit a larger foot. Regardless of the fit in the boot, the goalie will be able to lock their foot into the boot with the legendary pump system around the back of the Achilles and ankle. The outside quarter package is made of the “RIBCOR Elite” material which aids in flexion and mobility while still creating a stiffened support. The bottom midsole of the boot is also stiffened and made of a composite material designed to reduce weight and create positive support between the blade and boot.

The liner of the skate combines a Tacky Nash and clarino materials designed to keep the foot more dry and locked in place throughout game play. On top of the gripped liner, the skate is heat moldable to give the goalie a custom fit and the boot features the Lace-Lock system which allows the laces to stay in place to continue the custom fit. Lastly, CCM has incorporated a Triguard Tongue to reduce the risk of lace bite across the top of the foot and to properly distribute pressure on the foot for an even better fit.

Finally, CCM has kept the increased attack angle on their cowlings by reducing the shape to a more streamlined approach. The Prolite GS cowling offers a design with carbon inserts best suited for goalies who want a quick response, light weight and superior movements.

If you are an Elite-level goalie looking for the boot packed with the most comfortable and customizable feel right out of the box, look no further than the CCM RibCor 50K goalie skates!

Good skate

I wish I could give a 5 star review of the skate, because it fits nicely and fees comfortable. I had previously had the 14ks and loved them.... They were my favorite skates to that point. But these feel a bit more tight, even for a wide. I bought them because my 14ks wore a hole in the inside ankles and just couldn’t wear them anymore. In comparison these fit tighter, and seem cheaper than them. I bought Vaughn DM 1080s and love them although they seem to be just a bit too big.

I play 3 times a week pickup and I will keep coming back to them as a backup pair, but I wished they fit a bit better.

Great value

This are by far a step up from the CCMs I had before. I was using a low-level hand-me-down pair before. The ankle support on these are WAY better than what I am used to. I can get way lower before dropping than I used to and not have to worry about sliding out or my ankles bending.
I have the lace lock and pump on my player skates and I'm glad that is available for my goalie skates. I like that I can play back to back games and not have to feel like I need to replace my boot. I also love how the pump actually locks in the back of my heel/achilles for that added security. My only issue with the pump is it seems like it loosens after about the end of the 1st period. My only issue with the lace lock is it makes the laces difficult to loosen after the game (but that was expected).
I had these baked. I've used them for about 6 or 8 games. They are still pretty rigid and still haven't quite fit as snug as I would like (though very close).
The quality of the materials seem top notch and the overall construction seems great.
One thing to note, if you tie the toe of your leg pads to your skate, you can't really do that with these. There isn't a lip on the "cowling" (no cowling) to lock it into place.
To sum it up, worth the value. I'm not sure what my rating will come up on the website, but I would give these a 4.5.

Solid skate, not so great steel

I don't like the 1-5 review system, becuase really I would give thise a 3.5. These are a step up from my Bauer Elites for sure. My two main complaints are 1) the steel does not hold a cut for very long. I had step steel on my bauers and the blades on these ribcors seem to need a fresh cut every 4 skates. I like my blades sharp.

2) They are really stiff. Baked em, worn 20 times, still need a shoe horn at times to squeeze in these. The lace lock system makes loosening them harder.

Weight and build quality are solid. The CCM skates have a more narrow footbed to Bauer. If you are between these and the CCM Tacks - the tacks are super narrow and molded. If you have flat feet like me Ribcor is the only way.

The pump system works well and once I get the skates on they are very comfortable. They perform great too, when I have the blades super sharp.
