Details

For nearly a century, Graf has represented the pinnacle of both goalie and player hockey skates. With a focus on the mechanics of the human foot, Graf strives to create a skate that becomes one with the goalie’s foot.

The Graf Goaler G5500 establishes the next success in a long line of goal skates. Designed in Canada, the G5500 utilizes Graf’s TechLite Composite Quarter panels to create an incredibly supportive base to the skate. This base is complimented by Graf’s legendary AirNet liner with anatomical ankle padding, providing increased air-flow to the foot while remaining resistant to wear. This combination is designed to create the ultimate fit and reduce any foot slippage during game play. A low cut heel with comfort padding alleviates stress on the foot and allows for maximum range of mobility.

The Graf 5500 utilizes a new thicker felt tongue, providing both exceptional comfort and protection. This tongue maxes out at one of the thickest in any goal skate on the market. Lastly, the 5500 utilizes Graf’s new Pro Goal Cowling, allowing for interchangeable blades and a more aggressive attack angle than ever before possible on Graf skates.

With a range of fits available in Graf skates, the Goaler G5500 will feature a medium heel width, moderately pronounced heel shape, and medium heel instep depth. This combination provides a broad fit range for nearly any foot style.

Bad Luck I guess...

As my past protocol, I bought 1.5 sizes smaller (10.5 to a 9) the heal was very narrow and toes pushed the end, so I baked them, and went to the rink, first game my blade broke in half, waited 3 months for replacement, they came and so I put the new blade on and it clicks because it doesn't fit right. Talk to GM and no return because I've had them too long (skated on them only once)... anyway I skated 5 more times and my feet continue to go numb, so the sizing is off. Lastly the profile of these skates (blades) are very close to out skates, they are made for a goalie that wants to skate around with flexibility. I should have seen from the pictures where you can see the difference clearly.
If you are considering these skates:
1. go only 1 size down.
2. the heal is very narrow
3. the profile of the blade is very aggressive made for agile skating type goalies

Good skate

These skates were a little too narrow for me in a D width. I had them punched out a couple times at a local ski shop and it never held so I changed to a different skate. I slipped out on these a lot in butterfly compared to the rbz's that I just bought. The quality you get for the price is really good though. I tightened the blade tightening screws once and they've never loosened in 20 skates.

Agree with reviews

As stated above, I had the same problem with the blade tightening screw. It came loose a few times. Absolutely need to use locktight. As far as the skate is concerned it is VERY comfortable. Baked once and was ready to go. I did think the protective cowling is a bit small on the sides. But I would recommend the skate especially at the price. Sharpen more than other makes. 1/2 wasn't enough. FYI, they are made in China.

Not comparable in size to Bauer. Very narrow.

I purchased these skates in February 2015 to replace a pair of Bauer Supremes I had been using since 1998. These skates were a lot tighter in the heal, so tight my foot lost circulation. The blade isn't as long as the Supremes either so if you're used to Supremes don't even try these. I was skating funny at first looking for the toe to grab before realizing they were shorter. Skate looks nice and appears durable, just not comparable to the Bauer.

Awesome! Very comfortable

Most comfortable skate I've ever worn. Even straight out of the box. Excellent mobility and handling plus they look sick!! I've used them only for 2 games and really liking these skates!!

Time will tell

Only used once for drop in. Felt ok for 1st time. One issue that has caught my attention is the single screw blade fastener. I tightned them before playing abd they were noticeably loose after an hour. I may put locktite on them and see if that helps.
