    Love these skates

Upgrades my old 750's to these and I am super happy. You get the traditional Graf craftmanship and performance in a much lighter skate. Great feel for the ice and very comfortable on the foot.

Look great, feel and perform amazing!

I just bought new skates and after 4 games since there are not many reviews on the Graf DM1080 goalie skates I figured I would share my experience thus far and maybe somebody can benefit from it. Please keep in mind that I have a Pure Hockey about 30 mins. from me that only carries CCM and Bauer, tried Bauer on and they absolutely “killed” my foot...CCM was a bit better but not ideal. So now I was left to ordering online.

I have had my eye on these for a while now as I personally think they are best looking skate out right now but didn’t want to drop $800 on them without any reviews or much information out there on them, but finally picked up a pair for $600 from GM.
I’m coming from a CCM U+Pro skate (with standard step steel) size 7. I wear a solid size 9 sneaker and the Graf sizing chart recommended to size down 1.5 sizes from that of your street shoe; from my own personal experience over the past 30 years of skating I decided to go two full sizes down and bought the 7. I have a slightly narrow heel but my forefoot is considerably wider pushing the limits of a standard D but I have extremely high arches, which previously in my CCM’s did not allow for enough volume in the skate as my foot was pressing up against the tongue (space between tongue and eyelets) and my heel would lift out of the boot during play causing bad blistering. I have to be careful with having such a big difference between my narrow heal and wider forefoot, if I go with a “W” or “EE” fit there is a good chance my heel will lift leaving me back at square 1.

I first tried the skate on and my foot slid in perfect and felt that the boot had more than enough volume for my high arches but felt like my pinky toe might be pressing into the side. I kept them on for about 15-20 mins. getting in and out of my stance and dropping in and out of the B-Fly; the longer my foot was in the skate the better it felt. My toes just barely grazed the upsweep to the toe cap which is where I like my toes to be. I took them to my buddy at Pure Hockey who is a wizard with fitting skates to get them baked. I told him my concern with my pinky toe and knowing my foot he assured me that once we baked them they will feel great, he also had me get into my stance for the last several minutes as the skates were still warm to mimic the boot shape to my playing stance which I felt was really good advice to transfer the pressure of my foot to the appropriate places in the boot. He did bake these just a little longer as they are a very stiff boot which I feel was a good decision because I have had to have skates rebaked in the past because I have a really “angular” foot and sometimes the first bake was not enough.
Overall the skates fit like a dream and perform amazing; I am able to get alittle wider in my stance than with my CCM’s with Step steel, maybe because the cowling is so low profile it’s almost non existent in regards to protruding outside the boot. I played back to back games the other night with no chafing, cramping or pain, although my ankles were a bit tired after facing 62 shots between both games and only letting in 5....great job Graf!
*Side note, the tongue is amazing on these and the inside ankle collars is super soft; Lundy loop is available on the back giving you strapping options.
