Details

New for 2019, Bauer Goalie has released their next iteration in the Vapor stick line with the Bauer Vapor X2.9 Pro Senior Goalie Stick. The X2.9 has new features from the previous generation while still making it one of the most technologically advanced sticks on the market.

Starting off towards the bottom of the Bauer Vapor X2.9, the blade is made with an Innegra reinforced outer with an Aero Foam core. Innegra fiber is specifically used to create a lightweight build that is highly durable to withstand the impact of pucks hitting the blade during use. Internally, the Aero Foam core will give off effective rebounds to effectively redirect the pucks safely in to corners. Up on the paddle, a carbon composite construction is utilized to give a low weight feel on the stick for quick and effortless stick saves.

Moving up to the shoulder area of the Vapor X2.9, Bauer has implemented a control zone composed of GRIPTAC that helps give the goaltender confident grip on the stick that helps move pucks to the corner when making saves. While it also provides superior grip in the stance, the goaltender can also easily slide their hand up to go for quick poke checks or playing the puck.

Compared to the Bauer Vapor X2.9 Goalie Stick, the Bauer Vapor 2X Pro will feature higher quality construction and materials throughout the build.

If you are an intermediate-level goaltender who is looking for a lightweight and durable composite stick that will feel comfortable throughout use, look no further than the Bauer Vapor X2.9 Senior Goalie Stick.

Great Value

My son switched from his previous stick and is not looking back. He likes the balance of the stick and it is very durable.

Durable and Worth the Price

This stick is great for 2 reasons: durable and worth the price, (compared to other higher end sticks.) If you are a goalie, who is looking for a lighter, durable and price friendly stick...this is the one for you. Has grip, (palm and finger) and is the "twin" of the Bauer X900.

Just Ok

First I’ll say this stick is ok, and it’s possible id buy one again.

I haven’t had it long enough to really speak to durability, but I can say it’s very good so far. I’m a beer leaguer playing against guys who at best are D2 or former Junior. I’ve had it for a few months now and play 2x per week. It’s showing no chips or fraying and has taken some really hard shots.

I had one issue last week where a slapshot caused painful vibration; it was enough that I actually dropped the stick. I think that’s to be expected with composite (I could be wrong though)

I really prefer foam core due to the vibration issues but those seem to be going the way of the dinosaur, unfortunately.

Overall, I might buy this again since I can no longer find my favorite Sher-Wood anymore.
