The Bauer Vapor X700 Roller Hockey Goalie Skates are a great conversion of the X700 boot to bring this great skate to the roller goalie community.

With the success of the “cowlingless” goalie skate, the Vapor X700 skate is designed to increase the attack angle of goalies moving while in the butterfly position as well as recoveries and movements around the rink. The outer cowling has been removed and a “traditional” looking player chassis has been added to the boot. The boot and the toe cap have been stiffened and reinforced to not only provide better long-term durability but also protect against any shots to the toes.

Down at the chassis, Bauer has used the Hi-Lo Frontloader goal chassis that provides more support to the toe portion of the goaltender to increase the lifespan of the wheels while giving a balanced feel when in a ready stance. This chassis and boot combo raise up toward the heel to help naturally lean the goaltender on their toes for an effective ready stance. On the back end of the chassis, a space is provided for easy boot strap placement that won’t get caught on the wheels during play. This chassis will come with four Hi-Lo court wheels spaced with three in front and one on the back.

The Vapor X700 eyelets are moved forward so there can be more wrap and tightness in the ankle area. The boot has a fully symmetrical design where the inside and outside edge of the boot is the same height to give the goalie more support running up the inside and outside of the leg. Lining the skate, the Tech Mesh boot construction and standard felt tongue add to the softness of the skate while still maintaining protection.
