Vaughn Ventus SLR3 Youth Goalie Leg Pads

New for 2022, Vaughn Custom Sports has introduced their brand new leg pad model in the Ventus SLR line. The Vaughn Ventus SLR3 Youth Goalie Leg Pads are designed specifically for today’s butterfly goaltender and features key materials and features to excel this pad above the rest.

Starting off with the face of the Vaughn Ventus SLR3 goalie leg pad, the graphic is designed as a series of long color zones that start at the lower outside of the pad, travel in toward the middle and then shoot toward the upper outside of the pad, before finally pivoting back towards the center of the pad at the top of the thigh, creating the illusion of a wider leg pad.

Moving on to the internal build of the Vaughn SLR3 Pro, the leg pad comes without outer breaks but still has a single internal break below the knee to help shape the pad to help cover the five hole. The SLR3 features a full foam core internal structure, and a flat inner edge with higher density foam.

At the boot the SLR3 features a scoop angle to provide full flexibility for added range of motion, while keeping the build towards the boot angle stiff to help the pad sit up on the leg.

Along the outside of the pad, the beveled outer roll provides better puck deflection, while a narrow profile on the outer edge and gusset provides for increased mobility and better pad rotation.

The back of the SLR3 features an open knee cradle to aid with pad rotation. The knee block features a Velcro knee strap that can be run behind the knee or angled down to the calf. Inside the calf wraps, the Reactive Rotational Control strap is added to provide a snug internal fit. This RRC strap can be adjusted to the goaltender’s preferred tension to create a faster responding pad.

Finally, the boot strap of the SLR3 continues the beloved elastic/traditional hybrid style that has been so successful from the SLR2 and Velocity V9 models. The toe bungee system from the SLR2 also makes its return to the SLR3.

New for 2022, Vaughn Custom Sports has introduced their brand new evolution of the Ventus line. The Vaughn Ventus SLR3 Junior Goalie Glove continues to be one of the lightest gloves on the market while keeping the traditional Vaughn feel.

Immediately out of the box your eyes are drawn to the graphic, which is designed as a series of long color zones from the bottom outside of the glove, moving to the inside before shooting back towards the thumb blocker and finally moving back towards the center at the top of the palm, creating a wide look for the glove.

Starting at the cuff, the SLR3 Pro has changed to a one piece solid cuff which offers added protection, stability and a firm blocking surface. Additionally, a flared shape provides increased deflection and wrist mobility for the catch hand.

Moving to the palm, the SLR3 features a molded front thumb, back, thumb and palm for additional protection where you are taking the most shots. A wide notch at the heel is cut to improve stick control while stickhandling.

The pocket of the SLR3 features a single T, which increases stability, while a stock skate lace pocket in the web reduces puck spin, which in turn increases puck retention.

On the backhand of the SLR3 Pro, a neoprene flex inner hand provides comfort, security, and control. Internal wrist padding and a reinforced finger edge perimeter offers additional protection.

New for 2022, Vaughn Custom Sports has introduced their brand new evolution of the Ventus line. The Vaughn Ventus SLR3 Youth Goalie Blocker continues to be one of the lightest on the market, and one of the lightest that Vaughn has to offer.

Immediately out of the box your eyes are drawn to the graphic, which is designed as a series of long color zones from the bottom outside of the blocker, moving to the inside before shooting back towards the outside of the blocker and finally moving back towards the center at the top of the blocker, creating a wide look for the blocker.

Starting at the front of the blocker, the front surface is secured to the blocker with laces to allow for more precise puck control. The angled top section allows for better control on puck deflections.

Moving to the backhand, the flex cuff returns for added rotation for quality projection angles along with an adjustable wrist strap for a customized fit
