Board Construction
Molded Board Core w/ HD Padding: The VX1 blocker is built around a rigid, injection-molded board core to keep a strong pop without adding excess weight. High-density impact foams pad the VX1 blocker's core to balance its strong pop with a softer sense of control.
Deeper Board Flare: The VX1 blocker builds upon the Velocity line's more directional rebound feel with a deeper board flare over the previous V10 blocker. Compared to Vaughn's SLR blockers, the Velocity board's deeper, less aggressive flare gives goalies a greater surface area for controlling rebound placement.
Hand Protection
HD Side & Finger Protection: To ensure proper side protection, the VX1 blocker's sidewall and finger blocks are built around a rigid, injection-molded core and layered with impact foams in varying densities.
Tapered Bottom Edge: The VX1 blocker tapers down to a sharp bevel for a flush, highly-durable seal along the ice.
Fit & Feel
Coverage-Optimized Hand Positioning: Carried over from the V10 Pro blocker, the VX1 blocker's palm is integrated with the board in a higher hand position, improving post coverage.
Mesh Palm Gussets: Breathable mesh gusseting provides a plush, padded feel while helping the hand stay cool.
Flexible Cuff: Prioritizing precision and ease of motion, the VX1 blocker is built for a less-restrictive feel with a flexible design and elastic attachment points.
Measurement: Most manufacturers do not provide glove and blocker sizing guidelines for stock options. In most cases, a catch glove and blocker sized to the same age group as the goalie's leg pads should provide a proper fit. If you are unsure or the goalie is in-between sizes, measure from the base of the palm to the tip of the middle finger.
