Vaughn's SLR Pro Carbon Custom Goalie Leg Pads are built to pro-spec in Oxford, Michigan and London, Ontario; one of the few remaining manufactures for goalies who prefer the timeless quality of a handcrafted pad. Constructed around a rigid, butterfly-oriented design, the SLR4 Pro Carbon pads make an excellent option to control the crease with speed, mobility, and strong rebounds.
Core & Break: Introduced with the SLR4 Pro Carbon pads, Vaughn's new Carbon core material reinforces the pads' core for a rigid feel and stronger rebounds, without adding excess weight. Regardless of the selected core, all SLR4 Pro Carbon cores are layered atop with Vaughn's familiar Pure Composite to further ensure the pads rebound with a strong and long-lasting pop.
Stock: SLR4 Pro Carbon pads are built with Vaughn's medium flex core, with a single internal break below the knee.

Stiff Flex Core w/ No Breaks
Boot Flex: Carried over from the SLR3 PC pads, Vaughn's scoop-shaped boot offers a wide butterfly and good post coverage, while remaining flexible. Additionally, the SLR4 PC pads are built with a flat instep; sitting higher on the skates and reducing binding for quick and smooth pad rotation.

Outer Roll: Both custom and stock SLR4 PC pads feature a solid outer roll with a low-profile bevel to keep the pads rigid while helping to reduce skip-over.

Strapping: Vaughn's Reactive Rotation Control Plus calf strapping offers improved pad position and rotational control, allowing goalies to fine-tune strapping tension at both the upper and lower calf. For those who prefer or need to swap them out, Vaughn's RRC+ strapping is easily removable.
Stock: 7" RRC+ Velcro® strap at the upper calf with a 4" RRC+ lower calf strap.

Knee Cradle & Wing: Widened over their previous SLR3 PC pads, the SL4 PC pads' knee cradle offers improved rotation with more room for the knee.
Stock: Molded foam knee cradle with a removable outer knee wing.

No Flap, keeps molded foam cradle, removes knee wing flap.
Open, removes foam knee cradle and knee wing flap.
Leg Channel: The SLR4 Pro Carbon pads feature Vaughn's Balance Stabilizer inner edge panels, widened over the previous SLR3 PC pads to improve butterfly stability. Wrapped in Vaughn's QuickSlide for quick and controlled movements, the SLR4 PC pads' calf plates are backed with an inner support cushion to improve comfort and pad seal.
Stock: Standard calf, offers more room and a wider range of fits.
Knee-to-Floor Measurement: Without shoes or skates, measure the vertical distance from the floor to the middle of the knee cap. Refer the K-t-F measurement to the chart above to find the goalies' recommended base leg pad size.
Please Note:
*Thigh rise height has not been included as thigh rise is largely player preference. Retail stock pads are typically produced in standard thigh rise heights of +1, +1.5, or +2. K-t-F is primarily used to fit the pad.
