Single Break Core: The Catalyst Junior leg pads are built around a single break core, broken below the knee for more forgiving flex that stiffens up through the thigh rise to keep a tight seal.
Single Break Outer Roll: A dense outer roll lines the pad's outside edge, helping to reduce skip over and maintain the pad's shape while allowing a softer flex in the thighs.
Mobility
Stiff Knee Block: The Catalyst Junior leg pads feature a stiff knee block that helps to put the pads down faster and give goalies a stable, confident feel in butterfly.
Weave Clarino™ Sliding Edge: A water-resistant and highly durable synthetic leather lines the Catalyst Junior pads' inner edges, embossed with a semi-coarse weave to balance slide speed with traction.
Fit
Fast Rotation System: True/Lefevre's FRS secures the pads across the calves with easily-adjustable tension that allows goalies to fine-tune how their pads respond and rotate.
Elastic Toe Ties: Elastic toe ties secure the pads while allowing the skates a greater range-of-motion, improving edge control and reducing lower body strain.
Open Boot Angle: The Catalyst Junior pads are built with a wider, more open boot construction. On the ice, their wider boot construction sits the pads higher on the skates, improving both rotation and coverage at the posts.
Knee-to-Floor: Without shoes or skates, measure the vertical distance from the floor to the middle of the knee cap.
Thigh Rise Height: Largely player preference, K-t-F is primarily used to fit the pad. True's retail stock pads are built with a +2 thigh rise.
