Board Construction

Molded Board Core w/ HD Foam: Beneath its distinctive graphics, this blocker is built around a rigid core, padded with high-density impact foam. In practice, the V10 Junior blocker's rigid core pops high-speed pucks off its surface; complimented by HD foam layering to absorb the puck's energy and keep rebounds more manageable.

Deep Flare Board: Carried over from the V9, the V10 Junior preserves its focus on directional rebound control with a deep flared board. Compared to Vaughn's SLR blockers, the Velocity board's deeper, less-aggressive flare gives goalies a greater surface area to place rebounds.

Hand Protection

HD Side & Finger Protection: The V10 Junior blocker's sidewall is layered with high-density impact foam with the same rigid, shock-absorbing foams reinforcing the blocker's fingers.

Tapered Bottom Edge: The V10 Junior blocker's board comes down to a sharp taper for a flush seal along the ice. Benefiting both performance and protection, this blocker's board taper helps to keep pucks away from the fingers when paddle down.

Fit & Feel

Coverage-Optimized Hand Positioning: Revised to improve coverage over the V9 blocker, the V10 blocker's palm is integrated with the board in a higher hand position. In effect, the V10's high palm positioning presents the blocker for more effective crease coverage.

One-Piece Bindingless Cuff w/ Easy Flex 50° Break: The new cuff found on the V10 Junior glove combines the sharp, rebound-directing flare from Vaughn's two-piece cuff with a lighter, more rigid one-piece construction. Vaughn's Easy Flex 50° break projects a wide pocket and breaks over with a crisp, fingertips-to-thumbtip closure, similar to a 600.

Wide, Split Double-T Web: Offering a wider, deeper pocket over the V9 glove, the V10 Junior glove is shaped to funnel pucks into the pocket. Signature to Vaughn gloves, a "Split Double-T" is featured to project the wider pocket of a double T, with the snappier feel of a single T.

Easily-Adjustable Strapping: The V10 Junior glove secures with a wide, back-hand padding; offering easy Velcro® adjustment at the hand with a webbing pull-strap at the wrist.

Core Construction

Firm Core: The V10 Junior pads ship with a mid-stiff foam core, stiffer in the thigh with a single break to offer a bit more flex. Stiffer foams pad the core, giving rebounds a balance between velocity & control.

Classic Knee Roll Build w/ Single Break Outer Roll: Three flat knee rolls preserve the classic Velocity look and allow goalies the option for more controlled rebounds off the knees. Built to hold a softer pre-curve, these pads feature mid-stiff outer rolls with a single break below each knee.

Mobility & Crease Control

QuickSlide Inner Edge: Vaughn's QuickSlide is a highly durable synthetic material that wraps the V10 Junior pads' entire inner sliding edge to greatly reduce sliding friction. Seen above, Vaughn's QuickSlide is embossed with a fine cross-hatching to add just enough friction to control the slides. Compared to JenPro and other synthetic leathers found in goalie pads, Vaughn's QuickSlide inner edge offers greater durability with a unique balance of slide power and control.

Wide, Reinforced Calf Plate: To control the crease from a comfortable, more stable butterfly, the V10 Junior pads land on a wider calf plate built from a rigid, high-density foam. Wrapped in QuickSlide at the outer face, a plush cushioning backs the V10 Junior's calf plates to pad negative space in the calves, further improving comfort and pad control.

Direct Knee Stack Integration: Comprising the V10 Junior pads' knee stacks, layered high-density foams help to absorb impact energy with a more rigid structure to stabilize the pad. Integrated at the top layer, Vaughn's layered foam knee stack is built to translate knee movements directly into the pad's core. Streamlined, QuickSlide Boot w/ Softer Flex: Introduced with the Velocity V9 pads, Vaughn's Velocity 10 pads feature a more ergonomic, scoop-shaped boot with a soft flex. Compared to the V9s, the V10 leg pads' boot is built to better rotate off the goalie's skates with a flattened profile and a complete layer of Vaughn's QuickSlide material.

Reactive Rotation Control Plus (RRC+) Calf Strapping: The V10 Junior leg pads feature an easily-adjustable RRC+ strap at the top of each calf. Lined with a premium synthetic suede, Vaughn's professor-style RRC+ strap gives goalies greater control over how their pads fit and rotate.

Bungee Toe Ties w/ Clips: Compared to traditional skate lace toe ties, bungee toe ties allow for a greater range of motion in the goalie's ankle while keeping the pad properly anchored.
