Build
Reinforced Double-T: Compared to the previous SLR4 glove, the Ion Junior glove keeps the same break, but applies it to a double-T web. On the ice, the Ion glove's new double-T web widens the pocket, helping to funnel pucks in from the fingers and give the goalie a better sense of puck control.
HD Finger & Backhand Padding: Enhancing protection and helping to funnel pucks into the pocket, the Ion glove pads the fingers with dual-layered, high-density impact foams.
Palm & Break
Pre-Formed 60° Break w/ Easy-Close Game Ready Feel: Excellent for goalies still developing their strength, the Ion Junior glove closes with a neutral, fingers-to-mid-thumb closure. Additionally, the Ion glove's pre-formed 60° break gives the glove a softer, youth-friendly feel, ready to snag pucks with minimal break-in.
High-Tack Antimicrobial Palm Lining: Vaughn's Ion Junior gloves are lined with a high-tack embossed suede that helps to manage moisture and maintain full control through the longest practices. Additionally, the Junior glove lining is treated with an antimicrobial, slowing the growth and settlement of odor-causing bacteria.
Fit & Feel
High-Positioned Padded Wrist Strapping: Similar to their previous SLR gloves, Vaughn's Ion gloves secure around a plush padded wrist strap, affixed higher up the cuff to widen the goalie's range of wrist mobility.
Comfortable Mesh Backhand w/ Easily-Adjustable Strapping: A smooth mesh backhand lining and finger gussets offer unmatched comfort, complemented by intuitive strapping that makes it easy for goalies still learning how to properly fit and adjust their gear.
Measurement: Most manufacturers do not provide glove and blocker sizing guidelines for stock options. In most cases, a catch glove and blocker sized to the same age group as the goalie's leg pads should provide a proper fit. If you are unsure or the goalie is in-between sizes, measure from the base of the palm to the tip of the middle finger.
