Advanced Carbon Layering 2.0: New for the Supreme Shadow goalie stick, Bauer's ACL 2.0 construction revamps stick production with additional carbon-composite layering to produce an ultra-lightweight and highly-rigid composite stick. On the ice, Bauer's superior ACL 2.0 composite offers improved energy transfer and paddle durability over the previous Mach stick.
Unidirectional Carbon Fiber Shaft: A high strength shaft produced from an ultralightweight, unidirectional carbon fiber weave. Its UD Carbon shaft gives the Shadow goalie stick a responsive, balanced feel with superior energy transfer and enhanced shaft durability.
TeXtreme® 24k Spread Tow Carbon Weave: Fans of Bauer's elite goalie and player sticks may be familiar with the distinctive checkered carbon appearance of TeXtreme® 90° spread tow weave. Giving the Shadow stick its lightweight, and highly-rigid feel, TeXtreme® ST is woven in a 90° checkered pattern from strips of a larger, 24,000 carbon filament unspun yarn (tow).
Paddle Design
Ergo-Bridge Paddle: Ergo-Bridge paddle projects a wide, flat paddle face, back by a reinforced spine and reinforced layering to improve paddle durability over the previous Supreme Mach goalie stick. With its unique, recessed paddle architecture, Bauer's Ergo-Bridge paddle focuses the Shadow stick's flex for precision shooting.
Grip Tac Shoulder: Bauer's Grip Tac shoulder offers a precision point of control with a traditional shoulder geometry, matched with a high-tack finish.
EXPANCEL® Bridge Core Construction: EXPANCEL® is an ultra-lightweight expanding foam that is injected into the Shadow goalie stick's paddle core during construction. In practice Bauer's EXPANCEL® core helps to dampen harsh vibrations without compromising the Shadow goalie stick's lightweight, balanced feel.
Choosing the right fit for a goalie stick is largely player preference. Manufacturers do not typically offer sizing guidelines for goalie sticks as individual play styles, stances, and body dimensions vary.
For a general fitting guideline, choose a stick in the same age group (Youth, Junior, Intermediate, or Senior) as the goalie's pads and equipment. Then, refer their height against the above table to find a generally recommended paddle length.
