Redesigned with athlete and consumer feedback, CCM's Tacks Pro goalie lineup replaces the previous Axis XF pads with a thinner, more streamlined feel built for springy rebounds and quick, responsive plays.
Core Construction
FZN Pro 150° V-Core: New for the Tacks Pro pads, CCM's FZN 150° V-Core is not only thinner and more streamlined compared to the previous LiteXCore, but maximizes coverage between the posts with a 150° butterfly profile. Complementing its broad profile, the FZN V-Core's sharp pre-curve gives goalies a more distinguished rebound feel between the thigh rise and below the knee.
Core Break/Flex Options
Single Inner, No Outer Break (Stock): Maintains the stock pre-curve and internal break, solid, no-break outer roll helps the pads hold their shape and adds stiffness above the knees.
Single Inner & Outer Break: Single inner break helps to keep a stiff, springy thigh rise while allowing a bit more flex at the knees.
Core Padding Options
Infinite Power Rebound Foams (Stock): Introduced with the Axis XF pads, CCM's IPR foams cut the puck's impact energy just enough to give rebounds a sense of control while redirecting enough energy to fire pucks away from the crease.
Open Fit w/ Removable Knee Wing (Stock): Streamlined foam padding, offers a more open knee cradle fit. Includes knee wing with an easily-removable knee wing mounting.
Open Fit w/ No Knee Wing: Streamlined foam padding, offers a more open knee cradle fit. Removes knee wing and knee wing mounting.
Knee Stack
Dynamic Response System Pro+: CCM's multi-layered DRS Pro+ knee stack gives landings a confident, planted feel, complemented by a tactile SureGrip top layer to help keep the knee centered.
Calves & Inner Edges
Speed Channel Calf Plate: Familiar to fans of CCM's Axis lineup, the Tacks Pro pads' calf plates combine a flat, broad geometry with a deep channel that runs along each inner gusset. On the ice, CCM's Speed Channel design greatly reduces sliding friction below the knees while retaining a solid sense of stability in the calves.
Crossglide Inner Edges: Complementing the Tacks Pro pads' Speed Channel calf plate design, their inner edges are lined with CCM's moisture-repellent, finely textured Crossglide material. Compared to more traditional synthetic leathers, CCM's Crossglide material feels more rigid and slick-to-the-touch with a subtle texturing designed for quick, controlled slides.
Leg Channel Fit Options
Shallow, Loose Fit Leg Channel w/ Calf Stabilizer: The Tacks Pro pads' looser leg channel fit helps to minimize binding at the legs, allowing the pads to rotate and hit the ice faster. To back their quicker rotation with a sense of stability, a rigid spacer backing the calf plates fills negative space along the base of the calves.
Tight Fit w/ Calf Stabilizer: A deep, tight fit leg channel helps to keep confident control around the calves, while fitting looser above to improve pad rotation.
Calf Strapping Options
ADPTFIT 360 Calf Strapping (Stock): Also new for the Tacks Pro pads, Air-Knit Mesh padded elastic calf strapping gives goalies a wide range of adjustability to fine-tune how the pads rotate and control from the calves.
Quick Motion Strap System 1 w/ Lower Calf Wrap Strap: CCM's original QMSS design functions similarly to QMSS 3 but fits with a softer, padded elastic.
Quick Motion Strap System 1 Only: Keeps QMSS 1 calf strapping and removes added lower calf wrap strap.
Internal Wrap: Snug leg channel fit without QMSS strapping.
Boot Options
Stiff, Hinge-Break Boot (Stock): A stiff boot continues the Tacks Pro pads' springy rebound feel down to the toes, complemented by a new hinged boot break. In combination, the Tacks Pro boot & toe package keeps tight coverage at the post while opening up mobility through the skates and allowing for powerful pushes.
Soft, Hinge-Break Boot: Soft boot flex for goalies who prefer a more pliable, mobile feel at the ankles.
Toe Box Options
Lock & Push Toe Box w/ Hybrid Toe Ties (Stock): Hybrid bungee toe ties secure each boot with more give over traditional skate lace toe ties, but less give than bungee toe ties when pushing off the posts. Further enhancing edge control and mobility, a hinged toe box design wraps the posts while keeping the toe box and ties feeling firm.
HD Foam 3-Hole Bridge w/ Hybrid Lace Ties: CCM's Hybrid ties allow the skates a greater range of motion, securing with stretchable Velcro® strapping, complemented by static lace ties from the toe bridge to hold tight when pushing between the posts.
HD Foam 3-Hole Bridge w/ Skate Lace Ties: Thick, HD foam toe bridge with traditional skate lace toe ties.
Polyurethane 3-Hole Bridge w/ Hybrid Lace Ties: Hybrid Skate Lace Toe Ties with a thinner, more flexible PU toe bridge.
Polyurethane 3-Hole Bridge w/ Skate Lace Ties: Flexible PU 3-hole bridge w/ traditional static lace ties.
Floor to Knee: Without shoes or skates, measure the vertical distance from the floor to the middle of the knee cap. Refer the F-t-K measurement to the chart above to find the goalies' recommended base leg pad size.
Thigh Rise Height: Thigh rise shown for SR pads only, as thigh rise is largerly player preference. CCM's retail stock pads are built with a +1 thigh rise, with a +2 available in select SR sizes. F-t-K is primarily used to fit the pad.
